Community, it’s where it is at

Then again, I could be wrong.

I love watching a community come together, and with our communities I get to see it all the time.

This past weekend the Robertson County News and Franklin Advocate hosted the 5th Annual Hearne Fishing Derby, an event open to all from Robertson County to enjoy at Eastside Park, fishing and playing in the park.

The day starts early for me, 6:00 a.m. to be exact, which is when the fish arrive from Solitude Lake Management to be put in the pond. This year they delivered 396 lbs. of catfish, and I have to say the fish were even bigger than last year with the average weight around 2.7 lbs. Paul Dorsett and the crew at Solitude do a great job, often doubling our order to insure a lot of hungry fish for the kids to catch.
