Then Again, I Could Be Wrong.
Some say this has been like no other, but I beg to differ. I lived through the storms of 1983, not in Robertson County but Hays County. The hardest-hit night I spent in a barn, with a fallen cow, nursing it through the cold and the night as ice accumulated on everything around us.
Ironically, it is one of my fondest childhood memories, I spent that night with my father in the barn, with the cow and a bottle of scotch. I was about 16 years old that winter and as a typical teenager had little in common with my step-father.
