Where were you 18 years ago?

A Facebook post from a friend inspired this editorial, not that September 11, 2001 will be a date I would ever forget, but it reminded me to take a minute and remember what I was doing, where I was, and as importantly how it effected those around me.

The week was a normal week, a Monday morning like many in my life. I owned the Johnson City Free Press and I went in early on Mondays. A staff of just my self, Teresa, my wife and a single writer. I covered all the sports back then as well as my normal publisher duties and I spent that Monday getting box scores and writing up the local volleyball and football games.
