Donations for Trooper’s family continue to grow

Donations, add-ons bring in more than $100K for Trooper’s family

MEXIA - It was the 105th and final project to be sold at the Limestone County Fair Association Auction on Saturday afternoon, March 27, and the auction could not have concluded in a better way.

Rylee Walker’s pin of rabbits was the last project to be sold and they were purchased for $7,000.

Walker’s father is Chad Walker, the DPS trooper shot in the line of duty the night before.

Then, the add-ons began to flow in from businesses, families, and individuals, showing the Walker family that Limestone County is behind them 100%. Add-ons in the amounts of $5,000, $1,000, $500, $250, and $100 kept coming in as the arena and stands were in complete silence.
