First Jamboree of the summer

The first New Baden Jamboree of the summer was on Saturday, June 2 and it was a crowd pleaser. The Miss Debbie Oaks and the Valley Junction Band from College Station opened the evening. This was not the first time for this group. If you liked gospel, blue-grass or any other favorites of past times, this was the band to hear. Everything about this group was good. The harmony, the fiddle, banjo, and mandolin playing was excellent. The Robertson County Cowboy Church Band was the second group to perform. David Michulka, Keith Sanders, Butch Walters, Mark Morgan and Jimmy Sanders entertained everyone and even had a couple of special guests to help them with harmony. Everyone enjoyed this group at the Jamboree for the second time and hopefully for many more times to come. For the finale, Nick Watson and the Country Connection Band entertained everyone with some old time favorites. There was even some George Strait in the line-up.

The crowd was singing along and couldn’t wait to see what they would play next. The New Baden Jamboree is something everyone should see and enjoy. It is a culmination of some good music, friends catching up, making new friends, all at no charge.
