RCCL hosted animals from around the world

Mr. Eric Brittingham from Wildlife on the Move was in Franklin at the Carnegie Library for Wacky Wednesday. Chances are that most of us will never travel to South America, Africa, Russia, and Australia. Mr. Brittingham brought them to us in forms of animals from these countries. He kept the kids and adults on the edge of their seats for an hour showing these creatures and explaining what part of the country they were found, their defense mechanisms, and some of their habits.

We started our tour in Texas. He had a Speckled King Snake which are found in our area. The King Snake eats venomous snakes, rats, and other varmints. Do you know why a snake sticks out his tongue? This is how a snake smells. We then traveled to South America, Chili to be exact, and we learned all about the tarantula.
