Where’s the Shrimp?
The fried shrimp and fish were plentiful at the Pridgeon Center, thanks to many members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. You know the old saying “It takes a village…” well it takes a parish with many volunteers to make a successful fundraiser. Indeed it happened on Saturday night, September 9.
Many volunteers from St. Francis Catholic Church were frying fish and shrimp, French fries, and hushpuppies, to be served with slaw, tea and any kind of dessert your heart desired.
Many people came in to get their meals and take them home to enjoy with the whole family while many stayed to enjoy their meal and the great music provided by the Manthei family.
Everyone one was busy eating, visiting, bidding on many silent auction items, and waiting with great anticipation of winning grand prize of a $2500 prepaid Master-Card.
The shrimp and fish fry is one of two of St. Francis’ fundraisers. The other one is their annual Mardi Gras celebration which everyone is familiar with early in the new year. The parishioners would like to thank everyone that helped and supported their successful benefit.
