Bremond man arrested on three sex offense charges

BREMOND - Gregory Sophus, 44 of Bremond has been arrested by the Bremond Police Department for Sexual Abuse of a child, victim under the age of 14 as well as Prohibited Sexual Conduct with an Ancestor/Descendant a second-degree felony.

According to the probable cause statement filed by Bremond Chief of Police Curtis Pope, the Bremond Police Department responded to a call of sexual assault on March 13, 2021. Bremond officers took the statement from the victim, a family member of the accused who advised the officers that she had been sexually assaulted, continuously from the age of 5. The abuse, according to the statement continued until the victim gave birth to her second child.
