City investment pays off with conviction
About 6 months ago the Franklin City Council made the decision to hire a K-9 police officer for the Franklin Police Department. With the extensive research completed by Officer Brian Taylor and Chief of Police Terry Thibodeaux, the council agreed and to the $12,800.00 out of pocket cost for Diabol, the FPD drug dog.
Diablo has spent the last 6 months involved in a number of drug related arrest made by the department with his help, but last week, Diablo got his first conviction in court that send a man to prison for 4 years.
Charles Bice from Houston, Texas had the misfortune to transport narcotics (Methamphetamine) through Franklin. Bice was convicted of Possession of a controlled substance, less than 4 grams and given his prior criminal record was sentenced to 4 years Texas Department of Corrections.
