FPD Officers get much needed pay raise
After a closed executive session, the Franklin City Council unanimously voted to increase the starting pay for new officers hired on at the Franklin Police Department as well as offer certificate raises.
Previously the starting pay for a new officer was $14.00 per hour, however that has been increased to $15.00 for the first 90 days, or probation period, once completed an officer will see an additional $1.00 per hour increase to $16.00.
Officers can complete time in service certificates which is reflected on the TCOL’s (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement) license as part of their service record. TCOL refers to these advancements as Proficiency Certificates and their are four advancement placings, Basic Proficiency Certificate, Intermediate Proficiency Certificate, Advanced Proficiency Certificate and Master Proficiency Certificate.
