Lions scar the Eagles and ready to stampede the Buffalos
The Franklin Lions had to overcome a few early mistakes and an explosive Rogers Eagles offense to remain perfect in District 13-3A action Friday night. With the 52-35 victory, the No. 7 Lions won their fourth straight game to improve to 4-2 on the season.
Rogers jumped out to an early 6-0 lead with an impressive opening drive before Franklin fumbled the ensuing kickoff. The Eagles capitalized two plays later with another touchdown to grab a 13-0 lead.
When Franklin finally had its first offensive possession, it didn’t take the Lions long to get on the scoreboard. On Franklin’s second play from scrimmage, Malcolm Murphy took pitch and cut back against the grain for a 57- yard touchdown.
