Signs go up for new ordinance
It’s been almost a year since the City of Franklin passed a city ordinance number 284 that prohibits animal owners from allowing their dog(s) to do their business on public lawns including that of the county courthouse.
Signs now posted at the courthouse, city park and library direct animal owners to “clean up” after their pets or face a fine up to $500.
For many it has been a long time overdue, hearing first complaints to the newspaper from employees inside the courthouse more than 3 years ago.
