What to look for when the ice melts
With the ice melting, there are things you need to look for around your home and property.
Robertson County residents may experience busted pipes days after the thaw begins, as the ice can expand and cause cracks without bursting the pipes. These can lead to not only damage to the home, but a major increase in your water bill if the pipe is leaking underground.
Look for pools of surface water that are not drying up, this could be a sign that a water pipe has ruptured under the surface. Typically, pipes are only 30” deep in Rob ertson County according to a plumber the newspaper spoke with and that is due to the fact that weather of this nature is just not a foreseeable problem.
