Blanche Grabbe McMillan
Blanche Grabbe McMillan was called home by our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, following a short battle with cancer. The oldest of six children, Blanche was born September 7, 1927, in Silverton, Texas. She grew up in Silverton and married her high school sweetheart, Ray McMillan, on July 25, 1943. Blanche lived in Robertson County for over 66 years. Her life was fulfilled by her love of Christ, family, and home. As a member of Elliott Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Hearne, she was heavily involved in the Women’s Missionary Union, served as a Sunday School Teacher, and worked with the Food Committee for numerous years. She also enjoyed attending weekly Bible Study. When her children were school age, Blanche was active in the Franklin PTA. Her greatest joy was taking care of her home and family. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband; Ray McMillan, son; Autry McMillan, parents; Dennis and Annie Mae Grabbe, and brothers; Joe Grabbe and Dennis Grabbe Jr. Blanche is survived by daughter and son-in-law; LaJuanna and Phil Hunt, daughter-in-law; Charlotte McMillan, grandchildren; Chris Key and wife Melissa, Michael McMillan and wife Lauren, Amber Thompson and Brandi Thompson, great grandchildren; Drew McMillan, Blake Battcher, Carson Key, and Rhealee Key, sisters; Janice Birch and Barbara Allison, brother; Lewis Grabbe and wife Alice, and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home in Hearne. A celebration of Blanche’s life was held at First Baptist Church Hearne, followed by interment in Franklin Cemetery in Franklin. Pallbearers will be Phil Hunt, Chris Key, Michael McMillan, Amber Thompson, Kenny Reinhardt, and JT McBride.
