Ellan Rose Herndon Stem
Ellan Rose Herndon Stem was born on October 3, 1945 in Haleyville, Alabama to Joseph and Edith Herndon. She passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at her home at the age of 71 years. Ellan attended school in Anniston, AL until they moved to Houston in 1963. She was a graduate of Wellborn High School. She was employed as a data clerk for 15 years for PDI. She married Carl Stem in 1980 and they made their home in the Willow Creek Community where they ran a cattle ranch and always had a big garden every year. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, neighbors and friends. She also enjoyed the many cookouts they had in their backyard with friends. Ellan had been a resident of Franklin for the past 34 years and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; Joseph and Edith Herndon, husband; Carl in 1993; brother; Joe Herndon, sister; Cheryl Hallmark, nephew; Rusty Scott, grandson; Stephen Condon, nephew; Jarrod Williams, Aunt and Uncle; Elmer and Loreen West, cousin; Larry West, Son-in-law; Joel Stephenson. She is survived by a Son; Joey Stem of Navasota, Step-Daughter; Karen Stephenson of Conroe, Sister; Connie King of Anniston, AL, Grandchildren; Zach Brandt, Andrew Condon, Landon Stem, Great Grandchild; Logan Condon and Special Friend and Caregiver; Cindy Paul Services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin. Jimmy Reagan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. A visitation was held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements were entrust to McCauley Funeral Home.
