New Baden Jamboree celebrates Hardy Ellison
Texas’ oldest ongoing jamboree celebrated the 100th birthday of its founder, Hardy Ellison, with a day of music, food and festivities, complete with a silent auction and a hog-calling contest.
From its humble beginnings on Franklin’s courthouse lawn in 1954, to its current home in the former New Baden schoolhouse, the New Baden Jamboree has become a Robertson County tradition.
Saturday’s special event had a slow start, but later enjoyed a packed house as folks braved the dreary weather to be a part of the celebration.
