RRE receives special presentation

What began as a celebration of achievements took a surprising turn last week for Roland Reynolds Elementary students during their awards assembly.

Amid the usual honors for high grades, UIL competition, running fitness goals, citizenship awards, art, and participating in the Annie Jr. musical, the kids and their school received a unique gift.

Third-graders Cheyenne and Savannah S., together with the school, received a U.S. flag and a plaque from the girls’ mother, who is deployed in Kuwait. The plaque explains that the flag was flown over the headquarters of Camp Buehring, Kuwait “Scorpion Base” on May 1 in honor of RRE.
