Sheriff’s office plans to regain access to records

At Monday’s meeting, the County Commissioners’ Court approved a $14,000 payment to Southern Software in order to retrieve important information for the sheriff’s office and the county jail.

Southern Software will convert the data, which is currently stored by eDoc, a company that at one time had a contract with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Deputy Jerry Stover told the court that eDoc currently is blocking access to the RCSO case files and information, including information about sex offenders. The records were available to the sheriff’s office until the county severed its contract with eDoc. Once the contract ended, eDoc discontinued most of the RCSO’s access to the files, only allowing limited viewing and printing.
