Betty Jane Lunsford Russ
Betty Jane Lunsford Russ entered Heaven on Thursday, February 21, 2019 surrounded by family at the Isle at Watercrest in College Station, Texas at the age of 91 years.
Betty was born on June 27, 1927 in Georgetown, Texas to Charles and Helen Lunsford. Betty grew up in Center, Texas. Upon high school graduation, Betty attended The University of Texas and graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
She was introduced to the love on her life, Bryan F. Russ, Sr. by her brother, Sam Lunsford. They married and had a true love story that continues to this day. Betty and Bryan moved to Hearne, Texas in 1950. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hearne for over 60 years and a member of the Hearne I.S.D. School Board for many years as well.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Lunsford; her husband, Bryan F. Russ, Sr.; brother, Sam Lunsford; Sister-in-laws, Elsie Russ and Sidna Lunsford
Betty is survived by: Her children, Karan Russ Elliott of Hearne, Ellen Rebbeca Dayoc of Boerne, Bryan F. Russ, Jr. and wife, Laura of Franklin and Charles Kendrick Russ and wife, Mary of Bryan. She is also survived by her brother, Chuck Lunsford and wife, Lee Gayle of Spring.
Betty is watching over, from above, her grandchildren whom she adored and loved very much, Jason Elliott and wife, Kay of Conroe, Alison Boggan and husband, Brian of College Station, Matt Dayoc and wife, Becky of Boerne, Katie Laye and husband, Marty of Colorado Springs, Co., Trey Russ and wife, Whitney of Franklin, Josh Russ and wife, Alisha of Plano, Jake Russ and wife, Lauren of Franklin, Bekka Reinemeyer and husband, Ian of College Station, Trevor Russ of Bryan and Reid Russ of Bryan.
Betty is also survived by 19 Great Grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
Services were held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hearne, Texas. Burial followed in Norwood Cemetery.
Memorials in her honor may be made to the First Baptist Church in Hearne, Texas.
