TAYLOR MORGAN

Taylor Morgan was born on February 28, 1928 at home in Henry Prairie, Texas and passed away September 3, 2017, in College Station, Texas where he was surrounded by family. He was 89 years old.

Visitation will be held at Mc-Cauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at the Henry Prairie Baptist Church in Franklin, Texas on September 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow.

Taylor and his twin Thomas were born on February 28, 1928 to George and Helen Morgan.

Taylor’s childhood was spent farming with his dad and attending Henry Prairie School.

As a young man Taylor and Tom joined the Army and fought in the Korean War. After returning from Korea he met Vernell Bush of Franklin and they were married on February 27, 1954. They were blessed with five children.

As they began their family Taylor dedicated himself to creating and running a successful cattle business. He also served as the Franklin City Marshall for many years, worked at the Cattle Auction in Calvert and worked cows for ranchers in Robertson and surrounding counties.

Taylor was a member of the Henry Prairie Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by wife, Vernell; daughter, Kathy Pierce, his parents, George and Helen Morgan; brothers, Adren and twin Thomas; sisters, Barbara Scherr and Sadie Brocato. Taylor is survived by his children, Taylor ”Butch” Morgan Jr. and wife, Sherry of Franklin; twin daughters, Lisa Sanders and husband, Keith of Franklin, Susan Meadors and husband, Danny of College Station; Mary Schultz and husband Charles, of New Baden, Bobby Pierce of Centerville; siblings, Mack Morgan, Jerry Morgan, Dot Pilger, and Margie Dalton.

Grandchildren, Lindsey Otis, Randy Nall, Ronny Nall, Drew Pierce, Sarah Stone, Shane Sanders, Caleb Sanders, Jon Meadors, Jason Meadors; Kyle Schultz, and Kevin Schultz

Great Grandchildren, Peyton Martinez, Raven and Raden Nall, Kyle and Kynzlee Nall, Carter and Clayton Stone, Macenzie, Kyler and Emma Sanders, Sylvia Sanders, Brayden, Easton, Kennedy Meadors and Carson and Cohen Meadors.
