Bouncing back

It was a showdown for 2nd place on Tuesday when the Hearne Eagles and the Franklin Lions met in Hearne. Both teams stood 3-2 in district play and were in need of a victory to maintain contact with the district leading Jarrell Cougars who are undefeated.

As it should be when two good teams play, the game lived up to expectations and was close throughout. In the end the Lions came up 2 points short in a 66-64 defeat. Coach Reed’s guys played a solid game and held their own against the Eagles. They could not overcome the Eagles on their home court who seemed to make one more play when it was necessary to earn the victory.
