Natalie Philipello will be the only runner from the county to appear in multiple events at the State Track Meet in Austin in May and she was also named the KBTX Classroom Champion in recognition of her athletic and academic prowess at Franklin High School.

Lady Lion to appear in Austin

It has been one of those weeks that come along quite often as we become adults but are probably best forgotten. Everything goes wrong at the same time and leaves us grasping for straws.

That’s how life has been for the Franklin community over the past few weeks with the tornado damage and the recovery still an ongoing process. There are multiple reasons for the Franklin Lady Lions to be down in the dumps. However, these are a resilient group and like their male counterparts, the Lady Lions are known for rising to the occasion.

On this past Friday, they traveled to Midway High School for the Region Track Meet. Long known for their dominance in the distance races, the Lady Lions have a tradition of distance runners coming through in the clutch.
