Lions claw the Tigers
The start of district season has brought some tough times to the Franklin Lions basketball team. They have suffered two heart breaking losses in their first 3 games.
After defeating Cameron in their opener, the Lions dropped a 4 point decision to Lexington on the road and then on Friday dropped another hard fought game by 3 points to the visiting Mc-Gregor Bulldogs, 48-45.
All the teams in the district seem to be evenly matched and the one that can avoid the mistakes and develop some consistent offense could win it all. Little River seems to be the class of the district with a 4-0 record followed by Rogers and McGregor at 2-1, then the Lions are tied with Lexington at 1-1 but the Eagles hold the tie breaker having defeated Franklin head to head. Everyone else has at least one win in district except Rockdale which is winless.
