Lions ready to shread the Trojans
The Lions effort was present in both games but the shooting touch and the defense was not up to the usual Franklin standard in either game. Franklin had previously beaten Academy early in the year in a tournament so the loss was a bitter pill to swallow.
The Lions didn’t have long to bemoan their fate as they had a game on Friday on the road in Rockdale against the Tigers. Needing a win to stay game to the Bulldogs 68-54 in what was an upset in my eyes.
Then they dropped a heartbreaker at home to district leader Academy 62-59 to fall to 2-2 in the district race. It was not the position the Lions envisioned when district play began. It was even tougher when the Lions look back and see they had a 9 point lead on Academy before allowing it to slip away in the end.
