Marking their territory

After a temporary hiatus from the top, the Franklin Lions are back in the mix in the 2017 district race. They find themselves in a two way tie at the top with the Rockdale Tigers with a 3-0 record.

They have a one game lead on McGregor and Troy, with the Yoemen from Cameron trying to maneuver themselves into playoff position. The Lions already have wins over both Cameron and McGregor, with just Rockdale remaining as a major threat to their title hopes.

This week they will travel to face the winless Jarrell Cougars in a key road match. Jarrell went 1-9 a year ago and has struggled out of the gate this season to an 0-7 start.

Quarterback Caleb Carlisle, running back Marquise Sorrells, and receivers Qurique Dabon, Anthony Brown, and Michael Padilla are all capable but they have yet to put it together as a group.
