New bullets, same gun

A year ago, the Franklin Lions played their first year in what is thought to be the number one district in terms of toughness in the State.

With Cameron, Rockdale, and McGregor, the Lions will be in a fight each week to maintain their position.

It all starts this coming week with a scrimmage in Palestine against former district foe Westwood. The Panthers are looking to rebound from a 1-9 season in 2016 with only 3 starters back on each side.

With running back JD. Clewis and Cedric Wilson, WR Aneas Page the Panthers offense should be improved. They will rely on a big offensive line to open holes for Clewis who could have a breakout season. Starting with the Lions they should find out a lot about themselves.
