Lady Tigers are back in business
The Bremond Lady Tigers are saying goodbye to basketball and welcoming in the sports of softball and track. These are two areas the Lady Tigers have excelled in over the years. Each year it seems the Lady Tigers have had little problem getting back to business once the spring sports season arrives. Coach Charlotte Revill has the softball team off to a good start with a 4-1 record as the season begins. She thinks that the Lady Tigers pitching will be much improved in 2020 so she expects that the team will continue to perform well as they approach the district season. On the track, the Lady Tigers are known for their speed and middle-distance runners. They have also been strong in the field events especially the long jump and the high jump. The Lady Tigers ran this past week in the Iola Relays and came away with some very promising results. Freshman Ashley Kempenski finished 2nd in the 400 meters, 5th in the 100 meters and 6th in the 200 meters. The Lady Tigers won all three relays at the meet with Alyvia Perales, Aliyah Jones, Haylee Hughes, and Makayla Pruitt winning the 4x100 meter relay, the 4x200 meter relay, and the 4x400 meter relay. In the field events, Kempenski was 2nd in the high jump and Hughes was 3rd. Overall it was a strong showing for so early in the track season and the Lady Tigers are looking to only get better as the season progresses. Congratulations to the Lady Tigers on their early success in the spring sports and may that success continue as you move deeper into the individual seasons. Good luck and let’s continue to get better. A trip to Austin n the State Meets could be in the cards.
